Our Value Proposition:
We pride ourselves on being a true merchant of our products. We take the time to sift through the many offerings out there to bring you products that we believe will give you the best experience for your money. We listen to our customers, wine makers, and distributers to find hidden gems and solid values. We constantly taste product so that you may benefit from our experience (it is a tough job, but someone has to do it). Our goal is not to carry the largest selection of wine and beer - we’ll leave that to the big box stores. Instead, our goal is to narrow down the vast field of products to the really good ones on behalf of you, our customer.
Our Store:
The Wine Smith is often described as the “Cheers” of Placerville. We have a great mixture of friends that visit us on a regular basis, and new friends that are visiting Placerville for the first time. If you are looking for a perfect gift, a great bottle of wine or beer, or are just looking to take a break from shopping to have a glass of wine or beer, stop by and say hi!
Our Selection:
We carry a selection of over 200 different varieties of wine, champagne, and port at any given time. While the majority of our products come from the wineries located in the Sierra Foothills, we also carry select wines from Napa, Sonoma, Alexander Valley, the Russian River, Italy, and France. Additionally, we sell wine by the glass and hold tastings so you can give our wines a try for yourself.
We have beer as well! At the Wine Smith we carry over 60 of the finest crafted beers from around the world and have 8 microbrews on tap at any time including fine pilseners, weissbiers, pale ales, lagers, and stouts. Come by for a taste or a glass and rediscover the world of great beer.
